Job Description

Sacramento Waldorf School is seeking a thoughtful, experienced, and collaborative High School Administrator to help lead and support our high school program. This leadership role is central to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and mission-aligned environment for students, faculty, and families, while supporting the continued growth and vitality of our high school community.

The High School Administrator is responsible for the successful planning, organization, and supervision of the high school to ensure a quality Waldorf education for all high school students in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Sacramento Waldorf School. This position provides leadership for faculty and staff, supports student development, partners with families, oversees key high school operations, and collaborates across the school community to uphold the principles of Waldorf education.

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Waldorf teacher.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing administrative and operational aspects in an educational or nonprofit setting.
  • Intimate knowledge of Waldorf education and the principles of Anthroposophy.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Background clearances as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Mandated Reporter certification (renewed annually).
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention training certification (renewed every two years).
  • CPR/First Aid certification (renewed every two years).

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with faculty, staff, parents, and students.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster collaboration, inclusivity, and professional growth.
  • Ability to handle conflict constructively and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

General information for prospective employees: If employed for 75% or more over the course of the year, employees are eligible to participate in the following school-provided benefits: 

  • Individual health and dental insurance 95% employer-paid for select plans 
  • Dependent health and dental insurance 75% of premium 
  • Individual and dependent vision insurance (partial employer-paid)
  • Eligible dependent children receive a tuition remission equal to 75% of the employee’s Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) percentage, applicable to employees who are 75% FTE or higher.
  • Long-term disability insurance 
  • $10,000 life insurance policy with the option to purchase additional coverage
